Are you creative? Do you wish you could be more creative? Do you feel your creativity is blocked?

Try Morning Pages as suggested by the author, Julia Cameron, author of The Artist's Way. Morning Pages are "three pages of longhand writing, strictly stream of consciousness." (You'll need a notebook for your thoughts - just for private time in the AM.

Part of my Morning Pages today said:

"Wedding today---hope it doesn't rain.

Iron the shirt. Pace yourself.

Get ready and on and on." Your pages are private and only for you to read.

Write whatever is on your mind, however, trivial it seems to be.

By writing stream of consciousness thoughts, you are clearing your head of all the daily details and trivia we think about.

Julia says, " There is no wrong way to do Morning Pages."

I've written recipes, thoughts, recalled special moments.....lists, and plans for what I'd like to do in the future. Sometimes, I've diagrammed my plans as a way to think and plan.

Try it sometime this weekend. See how it feels to write Morning Pages this week. Do them first thing in the morning before your day starts. Grab a pen and your notebook, sit up in bed and write away. Since there is NO wrong way to write Morning Pages, you're free of rules and censorship.
