As a Health Coach, I can guide you through the various interpretations of what journaling is, different styles of journaling, the benefits and advantages of journaling daily. I've been trying it myself and it's very interesting. Journaling allows me to empty my mind of "daily trivia" so I have space to be open to creativity. I find myself relaxing

Julia Cameron in her book, The Artist's Way, suggests we write every day as soon as we wake up. Take a notebook and write three pages of whatever comes into your head even if it's trivial. Don't use the computer to do your writing as the activity should be a physical practice.

Julia was one of the speakers when I studied to be a Health Coach at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She called this writing Morning Pages and described it as a form of meditation. The best part is that there is no wrong way to do the pages.
